Guten Tag, all! I'm back from Germany, in one piece. So if there were any bets on that, please head to the nearest cashier to collect your winnings. Moving on!
I have a lot of stuff from Germany that I'd like to share, both my personal experiences there (awkward and otherwise) as well as what I learned from my summer school program and how it relates or differs from Canada. So I have a few ideas of different types of posts, that I hope to do as often as possible:
Awkward Abroad: Where I relate one embarrassing or awkward situation after another, and there are quite a few.
Mementos: Personal memories that I wanna share that aren't awkward, for once.
Edmonton vs. Kassel (or Münster in a few cases): I stayed in Kassel for a month, and Münster for about a week, and there are a lot of differences between my hometown and the places I called home while in Germany. They make in interesting comparison, especially in terms of moving Edmonton forward as a sustainable city, and where we might already be ahead.
Science of Sustainability: Getting to the nitty gritty of my program, but it won't be too science-y, don't worry.
I guess before I get started, I should explain why I didn't post while I was abroad. One reason will be detailed in the first Awkward Abroad, and involves my laptop being 'misplaced'. Another is that my program was so intensive, both school-wise and extracurricular-wise, that when I got back to my host family's house at midnight, all I wanted to do was collapse onto my bed, because I had to get up at 6 in order to get to my classes on time. So, sorry, but I made no promises of posting!
