March Update: Marchin' and #trypod

Hey everyone! It's the end of the month, so it must be time for me to remember to make an update.

Well, March has been busy, but I have two pieces of stuff for ya. First, I have some photos of the Women's March in Amsterdam. Between 15,000 and 20,000 people gathered and marched for women's rights and progress, and I was one of them, along with my boyfriend Erik and my friend and colleague Kelley.

I have an album from the March if you want to see some of the signs: https://goo.gl/photos/516stbNUXgtGbYwSA

Part 2 of this post is #trypod - This month a lot of the podcasts that I listen to are encouraging listeners to share their favourite podcasts with friends who may not be listening to podcasts. To me it's a bit gimicky, but I do love me some podcasts. So I figured I will share my current listening schedule with you, as well as some great ones that sadly are no longer with us.

Image 3, L-R, T-B: Radio Berkman, CBC Radio's Love Me, The Deep Vault (hiatus? done?), Buzzfeed's No One Knows Anything Politics Podcast, Presidential (finished for now), NPR's Invisibilia (awaiting season 3), Radio Lab presents More Perfect (mini-hiatus?), Bowraville (finished), The Round-up with Meg and Elena (eternal hiatus), and Mystery Show (unfortunately canceled).

Yes, I listen to quite a few podcasts. Especially since I moved to Utrecht, since I have a commute of about 3 hours there and back again every day. I barely notice the time though, because these podcasts make it all go by! For train commuting, I prefer podcasts to books or music. Books take up space and sometimes you only have standing room on the bus or train, and my eyes in the morning aren't up for it most of the time. Music is pretty good, but can get old or repetitive. Therefore, podcasts!

If I had to make a #trypod recommendation, it would be Undone or Mystery Show, even though they're cancelled. Because these are great for people who want to try non-fiction podcasts but don't want to get in to deep into a long series. Both of these shows are from Gimlet media, and were beloved by their audience, but according to Gimlet, required more production than could be delivered. And it shows, their fantastic! Check out Disco Demolition Night from Undone or Case #3 Belt Buckle from Mystery Show and I think you'll get what I mean. Then listen to all the rest and realize there's no more. Then you can refer to the rest of my podcasts ^^

Alrighty, that's it for now. Project-wise, I am waiting for some quality control checks and library preps, so hopefully next month I have an update about my current research.

  3. For the sake of safety and avoiding burnout, it’s probably best to stop at five or six, although, as Saxon proved, seven days of lifting can be effective if you have your mind set on it. The amount you do depends on your preference and the time you have, and it will determine how much volume and intensity you put into each session.

  4. There is no hurry in you finding a full blown Weight Loss Gummies is that it causes someone to want more Diet Pills. I'm now involved in Diet Pills most of the time. Well, as my Daddy said once, "There's no honor among thieves." It is not a scam. In point of fact, novices won't beat you up for that. That is how to prevent being bothered and begin living. Weight Loss Gummies is the only game in town. I recommend that you own your own Diet Pills.
